Yoga is about union: union of the body and mind but also connection with others. I invite you to meet yourself where you are, come without fear, judgment or apology and take the steps to balance your mind, body and spirit for a more harmonious life.

 What is Yoga?

Originating from ancient Indian philosophy dating back to 3000 BC, yoga is derived from the ancient Sanskrit lexicon meaning to ‘yoke’ or be united. In the definitive yogic text, The Yoga Sutras, Patanjali refers to yoga as the ‘science of the mind’ through which the body, mind and spirit are united.

In line with its origins, yoga is deemed a way of life, with teachings that spread way beyond the yoga mat.

The physical practice of yoga that we know from the media and that which is commonly practiced in the Western world today is yoga asana. Asana incorporates physical postures that help to realign, strengthen and release tension within the body. The practice of yoga as a mental practice requires discipline that tames the mind by way of breath work (pranayama), mantra and meditation; but also, a spiritual practice, unifying the body, mind, and spirit to connect you to your true essence.
